Haste The Day – When Everything Falls

Filed under: Books & Music | Taged as: | Comments Off

Since their debut album “Burning Bridges” Haste The Day are a constant in the Emo and Metalcore movement. With a fine mixture of being not to heavy and not to soft, the guys from Indianpolis perform what they call “rock and roll with break downs”.

On their second album Haste The Day show how to combine melodic rythms with hard guitars and punching drums without getting boring. Lyrically the songs are about love. lunacy, death and life packed in a very metaphorical manner.

The brillancy already starts with the opener Fallen and after the first straight and havy steps you are overcome by the catchy chorus and the deep shouts from Frontman Jimmy Ryan. Tracks like If I Could See, Walls And Fear or When Everythign Falls are real ear candy. The variety of their sound comes up with the smooth instrumental InstruMETAL or the Goo Goo Dolls cover song Long Way Down. A perfect balance between Emo, Metal and Hardcore during the complete playing time.

No limitation, no borders. Just well-balanced sound and thoughtful lyrics make this album to one of the musical highlights of the year. It’s one of those CDs you can listen all day long without getting bored and finding yourself joining in the refrains.
